Prompt: These letters show how Celie learns from the people around her, even in small ways. Think of someone in your life who influences you in a positive, everyday way—a friend, relative, teacher, or teammate. Write about what you’ve learned from them and how their influence shows up in your daily life.

Prompt Response:  Growing up my father has always influenced me throughout life and still continues to do so. My fathers job is a construction worker, despite working every single day, no matter what, he always wakes up at 6AM, goes to work at 7AM and comes back home  around    7-9PM. It doesn't matter if he is tired, if he gets seriously hurt, he always pushes himself to get up off his bed to start his day. What I've learned from this man is that you have to do your work no matter what, do it if your sad, do it if you are hurt, do it if you lost sleep, do it if you are happy, do it in whatever state you're in because sadly the way in life is determined by money. My father has even once disclosed his shoulder and he didn't allow that problem to make him miss a day of work. He always remains positive in any given situation and that's the type of person i aim to be.  Summary: November 18, 2025, absent from school Reflection:  I strive to be positive, t...

Prompt: Creating a video is more than just placing pictures together—it’s about capturing a feeling. Explain how you tried to bring your assigned letter to life in your Adobe Express video. What mood were you aiming for, and how did your editing choices help you communicate the message or emotion of the letter?

Prompt Response:  I was aiming for a heartbroken, depressing, feeling for my letter 13. In the letter it speaks about Mr.__ beating Celie, so for the line where Mr.__ explains why he beats Celie to Harpo, I was trying to make it look like Mr,__ didn't care or had no sympathy. The rest of the letter is Harpo telling Celie that he is in love. I added some parts in my video that shows that Harpo is in love but from Celie pov it's upsetting because she hasn't revived that type of love. Parts that show that celie is questioning this type of love that harpo has for the girl that he met in church.  Summary: November 17, 2025, we were watching peoples creative videos in class over their letter.  Reflection:  I strive to be the best that i can be everyday in any way possible, to reach my short term goals and achieve my long term goals in the future.

Prompt: At the end of Letter 21, Celie and Sofia share a rare moment of laughter that softens the tension between them. Write about a time when you and a sibling or family member shared an unexpected moment of joy after things had been tense or confusing. Explain how that moment helped bring you closer.

Prompt Response:  Siblings fight all the time, and my siblings are all girls so there's always something that has to happen, either if its fighting over clothes, someones tone, over food, overall anything, but at the end of the day we always soften up and brush it off. My siblings and I don't hold grudges over anything, well not for a long time. The way I make my peace offering is buying them food or just helping them out with anything even if they don't ask me too. Moments like these happen all the time and it only brings us closer and makes us love each other stronger.  Summary: November 14, 2025, The class worked on their 2-3 min long Letter on the book "Purple" Reflection:  I strive to be the best that I can be every day in any way possible, to reach my short term goals and to achieve my long term goals in the future and live in peace.

Prompt: Celie tells Harpo to “beat” Sofia because she believes that’s how men control women, but this advice causes pain and conflict. Think about a time when someone gave you advice that sounded right at first but ended up being wrong. How did it affect your situation or relationships? What lesson did you learn about thinking for yourself?

Prompt Response:  One time that i gave bad advice was when i was encouraging my friend to ask out a girl, I can admit it was pressured and at the time I did feel bad. It didn't affect my friendship but it did affect my friends confidence. The lesson I learned was to not give those types of advice without knowing if the other person actually likes my friend or not.  Summary: November 13, 2025, An assignment was given in class where we have to make a 2-3 min long video explaining our letter the book "purple" with quotes.  Reflection:  I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in any way possible, so that I can live in peace and reach my goals in the future.

Prompt: Letters 11–16 show how relationships can be full of misunderstanding and pressure. Harpo wants love, but he also wants power. Sofia wants freedom, not control. Reflect on a time when someone’s desire for control hurt a friendship or relationship. What advice would you give to Harpo or Sofia if you could?

Prompt Response:  I had a friendship that recently ended because the person whom I thought was my friend wanted complete control over things. People think that having control over the ones that they claim that they love is protecting them when it is actually harming them. The advice I would give Harpo is to leave Sofia alone. You can't make someone love you any more by taking control over them it only drains them. I'd also say to harpo that it doesn't make him any manly or any more of a man. I'd tell Sofia to leave that man, no man should ever feel like they have the need to have full power over a female just to make themselves feel any better.  Summary: November 11, 2025, was absent.  Reflection: I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in any way possible, to reach my short term goals and to achieve my long term goals in the future.

Prompt: In letters 6 -10, we see how Celie starts noticing the strength of people around her, like Shug Avery’s independence and confidence. Think about someone in your life who inspires you to be stronger or more confident. What qualities do they have that you admire and try to learn from?

Prompt Response:  My father inspired me to be stronger. This is because growing up I was mainly a tomboy, I always wanted to be as physically as strong as my dad, but overtime things changed and the main thing that I wanted to be like, was his calmness. My father is very calm and quiet which is what made me want to be more like him. Now its a trait that's personally me.  Summary: November 10, 2025. Was Absent from class Reflection:  I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in any way possible To reach my short term goals and achieve my long term goals later on in the future.

Prompt: After reading the first five letters of The Color Purple, reflect on your thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie’s early voice and struggles.

Prompt Response:  My thoughts were "what in the world just happened'' I was too shocked to process what i read. My heart broke when I found out that Celie's was writing all the things that she went through as a letter to god. I was also taken back at how early in her life these events took place, but it is also very strong of her to speak of these things since there are people in life that struggle with the things they've been through. Celie is a survivor with a broken heart.   Summary: November 6, 2025, I was absent this school day.  Reflection:  I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in anyway possible, to achieve my short term goals and then later on in the future reach my long term goals, to live in peace.

Prompt: Tell me what your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your favorite word and how often do you use it?

Prompt Response:  My favorite word is the word "Bro" i use this word every single day. The reason why I use this word is because i feel like i can refer everything i know to this very easily, only to the people that i feel comfortable with. I also use this word when i express shock, surprise, seriousness, etc.  Summary: October 30, 2025 In class we were given an assignment where we needed to create a comic strip with 15 vocabulary words.  Reflection:  I strive to be the best that i can be everyday in any way possible, to reach my short term goals and to later on in the future reach my long term goal so that i can live in peace when i am older.
