Prompt: How does the New Orleans episode of Street Food: USA show that food represents more than just something people eat? Explain how at least one food from the episode reflects culture, identity, or community.

Prompt Response:  The yakamein dish from the New Orleans episode of Street Food, reflects a lot on the community, this dish would bring many people together and bring a vibe for many others to enjoy. This dish didn't just bring out a story but it also brought out new friendships and many other stories for people to share. People from different cultures that live in New Orleans try out this dish and it brings them all together, not only filling stomachs but putting smiles on people's faces.  Summary: March 24, 2026, In class we watched an 40 minute video about New Orleans Street foods and their stories.  Reflection:  I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in any way that I possibly can be, for the good of my mental, physical and spiritual health, and for my love ones.

Prompt: Today, we continued our discussion about culture and food. What is one dish from your culture that is a must-have as a representation of your culture? Identify the dish and explain what it is and why it is significant.

Prompt Response:  One dish that is a must-have in my culture is an Elote, which is a Mexican street corn. There is not one person that I know is Hispanic and doesn't like an Elote. With an Elote you can't go wrong with it, it's a fast and easy dish, very fun on the go and a sweet tasty treat for friends and family to enjoy. Even though it is a Mexican dish, Many Hispanics from other ethnicity's enjoy this popular dish, and many others as well. An Elote is a grilled corn, covered with mayonnaise, or better, then with chili powder, lime juice and Cotija Cheese. It can also be served in a cup with a different name called Esquites.    Summary: March 23, 2026, Absent from school  Reflection:   I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in any way possible To reach my short term goals and achieve my long term goals later on in the future.

Prompt: Food is often tied to memory and emotion. Describe a meaningful memory connected to a meal or dish. Analyze how that experience shaped your understanding of family, culture, or belonging.

Prompt Response:  i recall the first time I've ever tried tamales, feeling the taste of these filled up my taste buds with excitement, i absolutely love Tamales they are the best thing i have in my cultural. I'm both Mexican and Guatemalan so on each side there are different types of Tamales, But nothing can compare to the green tamales with chicken (Tamales Verdes de pollo) from the Mexican side of my family. The Green sauce isn't spicy but it's to a point where you'll realize that it is sort of spicy but it just doesn't affect me as much. perhaps I'm very used to spice but it gave me a good understanding of what my culture is, we like to express food with spice and anything nice. Like if I eat a taco I cannot eat it without hot sauce it has shaped me to who I am today and how I love to eat my food. eating too much sweet gets boring to me at some point that I just need to have something spicy in my stomach.  Summary: March 20, 2026,  in class we finished ...

Prompt: How did the writing process (brainstorming, drafting, revising, proofreading, and finalizing) shape the strength of the final essay, and what was learned about your personal strengths and areas for growth as a writer?

Prompt Response:  Personally the brainstorming was fairly easy for me, I understood the assignment straightaway and went to look for what I needed in order to have my essay. When revising I fixed a lot of things that I mistype along the way or I would look for better words to sound more professional with my writing. With my final essay I do feel like I did all I could, if I lack some certain places then i'm prepared to acknowledge what I did wrong so that my future essays won't have that problem. Summary: March 19, 2026, our class started on our essay, I got checked out during class.  Reflection:  I strive to be the best that i can be everyday in any way possible, to reach my short term goals and to later on in the future reach my long term goal so that i can live in peace when i am older.

Prompt: Why is drafting an essential step in the writing process rather than going straight to a final version? Use your own experience from this essay to explain how drafting improved (or revealed weaknesses in) your thinking.

Prompt Response:  Having a draft is like having a prototype which is a test build which later on you can edit and add more ideas that come to mind along the way. It is also best to see if you have a good understanding of what you are writing, to advance your words so that your essay can sound perfect to you. Unfortunately I wasn't present in class during the day that the students made a draft but If I did have the chance then I would of add, removed or advanced my essay when in the middle of constructing it.  Summary: March 17, 2026, Absent from school.  Reflection:   I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in any way that I possibly can be, for the good of my mental, physical and spiritual health, and for my love ones.

Prompt: Reflect on your writing process for essays. Which part of writing an essay do you struggle with the most (for example: developing a thesis, organizing ideas, finding strong evidence, writing introductions, or explaining your analysis)? Which parts of essay writing do you feel most confident about? Explain why you feel strong in those areas and what specifically makes the challenging part difficult for you. Include at least one goal for how you plan to improve your essay writing skills.

Prompt Response:  Developing a thesis is a struggle for me, at times I find it hard to understand how to write a thesis, which leads me to get stuck on it for a while. I personally can not come back to something knowing that it is undone, instead of coming back to it later and starting my body paragraphs, I spend lots of my time trying to get it out of the way so I can feel like I'm actually progressing. I feel very confident about my paragraphs, I find it easy to find evidence when I know exactly what I'm doing. One goal to improve such thing should be to write down beforehand such as the thesis, claims, or conclusions because those don't have to be as long as the body paragraphs.  Summary: March 16, 2026, Absent from school Reflection:   I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in any way that I possibly can be, for the good of my mental, physical and spiritual health, and for my love ones.

Prompt: As we move toward the end of the semester, what are your top three college choices right now? Identify the colleges and explain why you are attracted to each one. Even if college is not currently on your radar, you must still respond to the question and explain your thinking.

Prompt Response:  My top 3 college choices are Georgia State university, KSU, and Georgia Southern, At the college Fair I heard a lot of good things about these 3 colleges, I asked a lot for questions based on what I want to study on and I was receiving great responses, Georgia State is more close to me which is mainly why I picked it has my top 3, For KSU my older sister was always recommending It to me and she was telling me that she knew people that went to KSU and started their careers off, for Georgia Southern I mainly picked it because in a way it reminded me of Georgia State. Summary: March 11, 2026 Reflection:   I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in any way possible for the better good of my mental, physical, and emotional health, and so that the people around me can also get the very best of me.

Prompt: During brainstorming, one idea usually stands out. What is the most interesting or strongest idea you came up with for your essay, and what made you choose it over the others?

Prompt Response:   The strongest thing that stands out to me is Cheryl's mental health, shes gone through real live events where it has dramatically changed her. Her mother deeply impacted her, Her marriage, Her drug use, The strong sense of yearning to be loved but couldn't receive it due to other people's actions that are out of her control. I choose to go this path within my essay because mental health wouldn't exist without people. I personally understand how one's death can impact your life, knowing that you cannot do anything about it once it is done. I also like to think that without the hurt that everyone has gained over their life, they wouldn't be who they are today.   Summary: March 10, 2026, In class we were coming up with topics and ideas to write our essay on.  Reflection:  I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in any way possible, for the people around me and so that I can also get the very best of me.

Prompt: After completing the assignments on making college affordable and finding the best college fit, what is one thing you learned that you did not know before? Why do you think this information is important for seniors to understand?

Prompt Response:  The main reason why some students pick their college is mainly because of the culture/vibe. I used to think that the reason why some colleges were picked was because of the amount of benefits they would provide and their education, which in most cases it is but in other cases it is picked because of the vibe that it gives off. I think this is important because entering college is entering another word, and it is best that you find a college that feels exactly right for you.  Summary: March 9, 2026.  Reflection:   I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in any way possible To reach my short term goals and achieve my long term goals later on in the future.

Prompt: Writing is a process, and the first draft is rarely perfect. Strong writers improve their work through revision. After reviewing and revising your literary argument paragraph, what changes did you make to strengthen your writing?

Prompt Response:  The type of changes i do to make to help me straighten my essay would be self-motivation. I always tell myself that I can do it and I can find better and I can do better, which then I take up the energy that I can and find better ways to word and to find better evidence of the text to make my claim sound stronger. At the end of the day I know I can always do it and I know I can always do better, to prove not only myself but to prove to my teacher that I have a strong sense acknowledgment and that I don't have wasted potential.  Summary: March 5, 2026. working on a first body paragraph on our same based off the book "Wild" by Cheryl strayed.  Reflection:   I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in any way possible for the better good of my mental, physical, and emotional health, and so that the people around me can also get the very best of me

Prompt: Today we discussed why academic writing must reflect your own thinking and understanding rather than relying on artificial intelligence to generate your ideas. After learning about the expectations for authentic writing, reflect on why it is important for students to write essays in their own words.

Prompt Response:  running your own essay brings the "you" out more than using artificial intelligence. It is also not fair for other people that use their own words and having people that use AI get a better grade off of what  is artificially generated. It's a form of cheat and it brings a source of unbalance showing that you aren't capable of the acknowledgment of what you know. personally when I write it tends to bring me more ideas it tends to create a better understanding of what I want to say and what I'm trying to prove instead of getting some AI generated answer that anybody can get.  Summary: March 4, 2026, in class we started our essays based off the book of Wild by Cheryl strayed. The class found topics to write about and examples and we each picked our topics along with our examples.  Reflection:  I strive to be the best that i can be everyday in any way possible, so that i can reach my goals and achieve my long term goals in the future.

Prompt: Today we focused on constructing a strong literary argument paragraph about Wild and whether discomfort is necessary for meaningful personal growth. After working through the claim-evidence-analysis structure, explain which part of the paragraph was most challenging for you and why. Do you find it more difficult to create an arguable claim or to move beyond summary in your analysis?

Prompt Response:  i personally don't have trouble with paragraphs straight off the bat I can acknowledge what I'm going to write about and no the type of evidence that I'm looking for. I feel like I personally also have a good sense of understanding of literature it's very Straightforward. but my lack would be not adding enough i kind of always wrap it up early instead of adding more sometimes I do feel stuck on that but afterwards i acknowledge my weakness and I strive to put more effort into my work.  creating argumentative claim it's just standing on what you personally think is right based off the question that being asked, you simply make a claim and find evidence that's  backs up on what you're standing for.  Summary: March 3, 2026. Absent from school.  Reflection:   I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in anyway possible, to achieve my short term goals and then later on in the future reach my long term goals, to live in peace.  ...

Prompt: Reflect on your experiences with essay writing. What aspects of writing essays do you find most engaging or challenging? Discuss your personal strengths as a writer as well as specific areas where you experience difficulty or would like to improve. Support your reflection with clear examples from your own writing experiences.

Prompt Response:  essay writing isn't one of my strengths but I always do try my very best to get a better understanding of building my essay. One of the most engaging parts of writing my essay is understanding or having a better knowledge of knowing what I'm going to write. One of my challenges is being stuck on what to write next after proving my point,Perhaps I prove my point a bit too early and not add extra sentences. I understand that writing an essay is making a claim and having evidence to back it up.  Summary: March 2, 2026. in class you read chapter 16 of the book "Wild".  Reflection:   I strive to be the best that i can be each and everyday for my own mental health and for the people around me. So that i can get the better version of me each day and so can the people that I love.

Prompt: Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).

Prompt Response:  on my worksheet I decided to do one side simile the other side metaphors and on the one that I've struggled on the most was appearance-based judgments and for that I decided to do metaphors, i've personally never been told anything bad well not in my face and also not that I know of. It did challenge me the most because I started to think about how people viewed me but no one has ever been that old enough to tell me about their thoughts based on me. so instead I went off on compliments that I've had received throughout my life based on how I looked and it made a more easier for me to complete the assignment Summary: February 26, 2026 we worked on our Adobe assignment based off on our "rising in my own words" assignment Reflection:   I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in any way possible, to achieve my goals, in order to later on reach my long-term goals and live a peaceful life.

Prompt: Today you created similes and metaphors that reflect your struggles, growth, and resilience. In a well-developed paragraph, reflect on the process. What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language?

Prompt Response:  i learned that I'm not so good at understanding how to write out metaphors it confuses me a lot, but I'm pretty good at doing similes.i also i found out that I'm pretty good at comparing things with my personal situations. i understand how to identify sorts of figurative language. comparing things from them to now I've realized how much growth I've had growing up and how much i've learned, how differently i would take action on sorts of things that I would have done back then.  Summary: February 24 2026, In class we were given an assignment  Reflection:   I strive to be the best that I can be everyday in any way that I possibly can be, for the good of my mental, physical and spiritual health, and for my love ones.
