Prompt: Think about a film that represents your culture (or a culture you identify with) in a positive and meaningful way. Explain how the film represents the culture and why this portrayal matters. Be sure to include specific examples from the film.

Prompt Response: The film Coco is a great example that represents Mexican culture in a beautiful and positive way. It really focuses on the tradition of the day of the dead, showing how important family, music and remembering our love lost ones. For example when the film shows the offerings, the bright orange and other range of colors teaches us that death isn't something to be scared of, but a way to stay connected to those we love. This matters because it celebrates our heritage with pride instead of using old stereotypes, making people from our culture feel seen and understood.
